Bean-to-Brain Roasting Co was born from a neuroscientist's desire to share his journey into the intricate world of coffee. A deep passion and scientific approach, equally shaping the meticulous sourcing and roasting that Bean-to-Brain embraces.

Rooted in a European childhood, a culture where coffee was both ubiquitous and ritualistic, my early encounters with the dark, bitter cup were more about function than appreciation. It was a beverage to brace oneself with during late-night study sessions, or to savor during moments of shared intimacy.

It wasn't until reaching California’s Bay Area that the true essence of coffee revealed itself to me: amidst the beginnings of the "third-wave" coffee movement, I experienced a god-shot (as they say), that forever altered my perception and expectations. Specialty coffee emerged not merely as a beverage, but as a symphony of flavors, a celebration of the effort and passion of a long line of people striving to provide the best experience.

My scientific background helped me discern the nuances between noise and enduring truths. I began roasting my own beans, and the world suddenly became much larger! Each batch was an experiment, a fusion of art and science, and eventually key elements crystalized into knowledge and procedures.
